Membership on this Board is determined by appointment to the Board of Revision.
The function of the Board is to deal with appeals relating to licenses issued under The Business License Bylaw, 2002; The License Bylaw; The Vehicle for Hire Bylaw, 2019; The Cannabis Business License Bylaw, 2018; and The Adult Services Licensing Bylaw, 2012.
Board Information
The Board shall consist of the same appointees who form the Board of Revision.
Meetings are as required, dependent upon the number of appeals received. Board members must be available for meetings during the day.
* Ability to commit required time;
* Experience in hearing appeals or in meetings that involve an adjudication process;
* Ability to write, in plain and concise language the Board's decisions that are comprised of the testimony heard and the analysis and summary of the Board's reasons for its decisions;
* Ability to act with integrity; and
* Ability to organize, read, understand, and apply complex and large documents, statute law and regulations, and case law.

The Board is an independent body.
The Licence Appeal Board adjudicates appeals under the provisions of Section 4 of The Saskatoon License Appeal Board Bylaw, 2012.
Members receive $25.00 for each hearing date attended and the member who writes the decision of the Board shall receive an additional $25.00 per decision.
The Saskatoon Licence Appeal Board is appointed by resolution of City Council. Council shall appoint five members to hear and determine appeals in accordance with Section 3(3) of the Licence Appeal Board Bylaw. A member of council is not eligible to be appointed as a member of the Board [Section 3(3) of the Bylaw].
Membership on the Licence Appeal Board is determined by membership on the Board of Revision. Members are appointed for a one-year term and can be reappointed. Except in unusual circumstances, a member may not serve more than six years. In accordance with Section 3(7) members of the Licence Appeal Board must take an official oath in the prescribed form prior to carrying out any duties, power or function of the Board.
