The City has a municipal interest in the economic development, growth and diversification of the economy in the City of Saskatoon.

The City recognizes the importance of promoting growth in existing businesses and encouraging new businesses to locate in the City.

The City wishes to participate in economic development activities, and to be represented locally, regionally, nationally and internationally on economic development issues and to engage the Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority to provide economic development services and representation, and to act as a regional economic development authority.

The Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority wishes to provide economic development services and representation, and to act as the regional economic development authority for the remuneration, and in the manner hereinafter set out.

Articles of Incorporation - Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority was incorporated as a non-profit corporation - 1996.

Total Membership    Up to 4 members in total including the Mayor

The City has a single voting membership in the Authority with the right to elect three directors in addition to the mayor (who is automatically a director).  Membership in the Authority is open to all stakeholders including investors and surrounding rural communities.  These members will elect the majority of the new directors.
