Quarterly (February/March; May/June; August/September; November/December) on a Wednesday at 12:00 Noon
* Extensive experience in interpreting financial data pertaining to pension fund investments;
* Experience in judging the expertise of money managers;
* Experience in weighing the risks and liabilities of types of investments, nationally and internationally;
* Experience in analyzing the reports of actuaries;
* Thorough knowledge of the Pension Plan Bylaw, the Provincial Pensions and Benefits Act and Regulations and the Canada Revenue Act as it relates to pension plans;
* Willingness and ability to carry out the duties of a trustee and fulfil the associated fiduciary obligations;
* Possess an understanding of the needs of the Plan’s membership; and
* Ability to serve as a trustee in an independent and objective fashion.
* Preference will be given to extensive financial experience in business, accounting, commerce and investment practices.
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS TO FILL THE VACANCY:
* Investment knowledge
* Pension or actuary background; or
* Legal background
To administer matters related to the General Superannuation Plan (Bylaw No. 8226) under provisions of the Trust Agreement.

The Board shall be comprised of nine persons appointed as follows:
(a) Four persons shall be appointed by the City;
(b) Four persons shall be appointed by the following employee organizations according to an agreement entered into by those organizations:
(i) Saskatoon Civic Employees’ Union, Local 59 CUPE;
(ii) Saskatoon Civic Employees’ Union, Local 47 CUPE;
(iii) Saskatoon Civic Employees’ Union, Local 859 CUPE;
(iv) International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 319;
(v) Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 615;
(vi) Saskatoon Civic Employees’ Union, Local 2669 CUPE; and
(vii) Saskatoon Exempt Staff Inc.; and
(viii) Saskatoon Civic Middle Management Association; and
(ix) International Alliance Theatrical Stage Employees, Local 300.
(c) One person who shall not be an employee of the City, shall be appointed by the City for a three -year renewable term upon the recommendation of the Board appointed under (a) and (b).
There shall be no limit upon the number of terms which may be served by a Trustee appointed under this clause.
