Hears appeals from any person who feels the Meewasin Valley Authority development plan has been misapplied in relation to his or her application or feels aggrieved with respect to any terms or conditions attached to an approval granted on an application.

Anyone with an interest, although in practice, it has been proven useful to have a lawyer serve on the Appeals Board.  

The Meewasin Valley Authority Act, Section 29.1.

Total membership of 3,

(a) one member appointed by the city (cannot be a member of City Council)

(b) one member appointed by the government; and

(c) one member appointed by the university.

 Subsection 29.1(4) of The Meewasin Valley Authority Act provides that no member of the Appeals Board will hold office for more than two consecutive terms.  Also, that a member of the Appeals Board holds office for a term of three years and until a successor is appointed.
